MDG-S: - Enhancement BP data model with Custom entity and manage it in the UI

$

0

I have a requirement where i need to enhance MDG BP data model with Custom Entity & display the attributes on the UI. And all the data of custom attributes should flow from staging tables to Custom R/3 tables upon approval.

Type of the Custom entity is "Changeable by change request".

I am following the document “SAP How-To Guide: Extend the MDG Business Partner – Node Extension (Reuse Option)” available here Configuration and Enhancement of SAP Master Data Governance

I am stuck in the handler class which i have created.

1st Issue : is that this class is not getting triggered from the UI. So the values which we are providing in the fields are getting refreshed on the UI itself.

2nd Issue : how the data will flow from UI to staging tables & then to the custom table.

Please provide some solution if anyone of you had faced this type of scenario.

Regards,

Rohit

Hello Experts,

I have couple of questions on Mass Create/Upload for Material.

1. How to Upload classification data with the Basic Data of Material which has been already created/uploaded in the system?

2. Is it possible to do Duplicate Check during the Mass Upload in both of the cases while Basic Data Upload & Classification Data Upload?

Note: Make sure I am asking Duplicate Check during Mass Upload, not once the Data will be create/upload in the system.

Please help me to get the resolution.

Hello,

I have a scenario where a Vendor is a Customer as well. We need to create a separate customer record based on the Supplier record. In MDG we either have a Customer UIs or Vendor UIs. Is it possible to maintain both ERP Vendor and ERP Customers in the Business Partner UIs? I do not see any ERP Customer and ERP Vendor related UIs when i try to create a Business Partner.

Need help in mass load of Classification data in MDG through FILE UPLOAD only

$

Hi Experts,

Has anyone worked on a scenario where we need to mass load the classification data of Materials through “File Upload” feature in NWBC.

Though, SAP has provided us 2 entity types  i.e Characteristic Valuation (Classification) and Class Assignment (Classification) for upload, but they are not sufficient enough to load the classification data completely.

The process for loading the classification data are listed below:

  1. Upload the class type and class information for the existing materials using the entity type “Class Assignment (Classification)” for upload. PFB the screenshot for available attributes for upload:

c2.PNG

2) Then upload the characteristics values against the already loaded class types and classes for the related characteristics descriptions fields of the materials using the entity type” Characteristic Valuation (Classification) “ . But the issue here is that in the list of attributes for this entity type, we don’t have any field such as Class name or internal class no. so that we may load the characteristics values for those specific class names.

c1.PNG

Also, there are 2 Internal Char No attributes above ( Internal Char No and Internal char no), Please let me know if they are correct or mistyped by SAP or if one if them is internal class no which I am looking for,

Please let me know if I am missing any point while performing upload or if my approach is wrong.

Any inputs would be very helpful for us.

Thanks in advance.

Initial load of multiple assignment of Vendors to BP data into MDG

Hello,

We have a scenario where in our ECC system, we have multiple Suppliers created for the same supplier for some specific reasons. We are installing MDG and we need to do an upload of Suppliers into the MDG system. We plan to use BP concept to maintain the general data, address data etc and link all the ERP Vendors to this BP. Since MDG ECC does not support the multiple assignment of Suppliers to one BP, we cannot upload this setup using standard methods. Can you please propose a way to upload the data for BP, Vendors and multiple assignments into MDG. I guess creating BPs and Vendors would be straight forward using standard IDOC import, but how do i load the multiple assignments i.e the link table between BP and Vendors? Is there a standard way?

Thanks,

Kiran

Switch to EDIT mode (MDG-C/-S)

Hi guys,

I am looking for solution to start the change process in MDG in Edit mode.

According to SAP NOTE "1719737 - Limited enhanceability of method SET_UI_READ_ONLY" it does already work for Data Model "MM" (Material).

Are you guys aware of a possible solution for the Data Model "BP".

As the note refers to the class "CL_MDG_BS_MAT_ASSIST_UI" - it is not suitable for data model Business Partner.

Any proposal or solution approach?

Cheers,

Marco

UI refresh when changing data in cross-derivation BADi

$

We have the following scenario:

We created a Z-Entity for a material. Using the standard insert/delete options for this entity works fine and creates the new entities for this material in the data model and shows them in a table in the UIBB.

uibb.JPG

Then we enhanced the UIBB with two extra buttons. Depending on which button is pressed, an entity should be created/copied from another material. This implementation is done in the cross-entity derivation BADi.

We enhanced method /PLMU/IF_FRW_G_ACTIONS~PROCESS_ACTION_EVENTin order to recognize which button is pressed.

Then we implemented the cross-entity derivation BADi, which gets triggered and changes the data model and creates the entry we need in the model. This works fine and the new entity is available in the model data.

Our problem with this approach is, that the UI isn't refreshed when one of these buttons is pressed and the new entry does not appear in the entity's table.

If we change a material's standard field (e.g. material type) afterwards, another roundtrip is triggered and the UI is refreshed including the update of our entity table.

We have already tried to raise a roundtrip event when the button is pressed and also have tried to change a field manually using the convenience API with no luck so far.

Does somebody know how we can trigger a complete roundtrip or something that also updates the UI component?

Kind regards,

Sebastian

SAP Screen Personas compatibility with MDG-M

$

Does anyone know if SAP Screen Personas is compatible with MDG?  I know you can run Personas within NWBC.  However, I am wondering if Personas is compatible with MDG or applications built using floorplan manager.

I am very familiar with MDG functionality and functional configuration (UI Configuration Manager and BRF+ Validation and Derivation tools).  However, it gets confusing when you start talking about the various flavors of NWBC and what technologies actually work together.  I have also played quite a bit with Personas.  And now I am being asked by our business if they are compatible with each other.

I believe the use case coming from our business is the need to move or combine fields between various UIBBs to simplify the interface.  It does not make sense to me that you would use Personas to hide or show fields because that can already be accomplished with MDG UI configuration (without introducing another technology such as Personas).  But despite our best effort to hide certain fields for MDG Requestors, perform validations, and default values, etc., our MDG users (material requestors) still find the UI cumbersome.  Especially when one or more required fields are missing a value and they have to hunt back through so many UIBBs to find the particular field in error.

Despite whether or not it really makes sense to introduce Personas into the MDG environment, just curious if it is even possible.

Appreciate any feedback folks have. Thanks.

Rob

Setting Supplier address attributes mandatory on MDG UI

Hello Experts,

I found SPRO node for BP level attributes configuration.

It is : Cross Application Components ->SAP Business partner -> Business Partner -> Basic Setting ->Field Groupings -> Configure field attributes per client

For MDG Supplier, I am using Supplier UI. On the supplier Change Requests I need to make address fields (Street, House Number, Postal Code, City, Country, Communication Method) mandatory. I was able to successfully do this using above given SPRO Config.

Problem arises when, a contact person is also created along with supplier in relationship section of the change request. Although there are no address fields (Street, House Number, Postal Code, City, Country) on contact person details screen, but still it causes errors on the UI screen to fill these mandatory fields (see image below). These fields are already filled on Supplier General details address section of UI.

Contact Person issue.png

My Question is: How can I make these address fields mandatory only for Supplier and not for Contact person? Please let me know the relevant SPRO Config node.

Issue with Partner Function replication and Key Mapping

$

Hi All,

We are implementing Customer domain on MDG 7.0 Hub system. Since we have different customer numbers in MDG Hub and target system, we have enabled Key mapping. We have created a different number range for target system in MDG Hub. We are replicating from Hub system to Target system using ALE.

Now the problem is whenever we replicate a new customer which is extended to a Sales Organization, Partner Functions segment fields in the DEBMAS idoc are filled with skip indicator(\). We tried to debug the standard SAP code and found that while populating partner function segments it tries to read key mapping table, which is not yet populated with new number. So it fills all fields with skip indicator. Because of this all the idocs are failing in target system.

I have attached a screenshot of KNVP segment.

BP relationships and Customer contact person

$

Hi All,

We are trying to maintain Customer contact persons using BP relationship entity in MDG 7.0 system. As per my understanding to create a Customer contact person using CVI settings, we need to create a BP of type "Person" in BP Relationship entity. This contact BP is created in BP Group which is marked as "Internal Standard Grouping".

Once the Customer BP is activated, it creates the contact in KNVK table along with the Customer. The Customer Contact Id is generated using some internal number range and this number is different from BP ID created in relationship entity. Where can I find the Customer Contact Internal number range and can I have a control over numbering?

Even when I create a contact manually using VAP1 tcode, Id is generated using some internal number range and I am not able to locate it.

Basically the business requirement is that the Customer Contact Id and its corresponding BP Id should be same. We have complete control over number ranges of BP Groups and Customer account groups. Even we can have same ids for BP and Customer. Can we do something similar for having same Ids for Customer Contact and its BP?

Ashwin

Hi Experts,

I am using MDG for Supplier, my question is how can I enable Plant and Sub-Range columns on Partner Function section on UI.

Please check screenshot below. Here, for the purchase organization I have also added Additional Purchase Organization data for Plant. But I am unable to assign Plant on a Partner Function because columns are disabled.
