Hi,

Maybe you have read the Innovations in SAP Master Data Governance 7.0? blog by Markus Kuppe.

If not: I recommend reading that fantastic blog because it will update you with all the "must know" information on MDG 7.0.

As a follow up, I would like to share some click-through demos in this blog series. The plan is to share more and more simple demos on the new MDG 7.0 features in the next months.

This is the list of demo`s:

NumberTopicLink(s)Description
1BCV Side Panel apps

MDG-C:http://demo.tdc.sap.com/SpeedDemo/01c2946bff5b080a

MDG-S: http://demo.tdc.sap.com/SpeedDemo/f974eeda5e85b210

MDG-M: http://demo.tdc.sap.com/SpeedDemo/47d7e221a072b3bd

SAP MDG 7.0 delivers several BCV CHIP applications. These click-through demos will show you the standard content.

Example: In the MDG-C click-through demo you will search for an existing customer record. After opening the details you will display the open Sales Orders in the Side Panel.

2MDG Cleansing CasesMDG-C http://demo.tdc.sap.com/SpeedDemo/91f50d23edc2bcba

New with this release, there is also merge functionality for customers and suppliers. Whenever a user identifies potential duplicates in a search result list, or when the system identifies them in a duplicate check during change request processing, the user can create a Cleansing Case that contains all potential duplicates. Using an underlying change request, this cleansing case can be processed by an expert to merge the data from all duplicates into one target record.*

How to use the click-through-demos:

Generally the click-through-demos should be self-guiding. Just click on the link within the table below and you will be forwarded to the corresponding page. In this page you will typically see in the middle of the screen some numbers. Just click on one number and you will be guided through the first scene. Within the screenshots you will see a doted rectangular shape. Please click within this shape and you will see the next screenshot.

If you have any questions on the shared information please contact me via SCN. All the demo`s are also available for a live demonstration on www.sapdemocloud.com and our pre-sales experts are happy to show them to you.

Creating CRs from IDocs

$

0

Hello All,

Is it possible to create CR from IDocs? For Initial upload, We are receiving IDocs from source system. As soon as MDG system receives IDocs with multiple customers, CR should get created for each IDoc. I have been going through the form and read some where its possible through Data Import Framework but nothing much in detail.

Some specific questions are:

1. Is this Data Import Framework will work for all master data objects(Customer, Vendor, Material and Finance)

2. Do we need any specific configuration required to receive IDocs in MDG system? In our landscape, source system is non-sap but capable of sending IDocs.

Please throw some light on this.

Thanks,

BS

Validations is USMD_RULE do not run in NWBC

Hi All,

I am trying to create validations which could be run on NWBC screen.

I was successfull in creating the validations is USMD_RULE and the simulation in the same screen was working as desired.

but when i try creating a CR, the validations are not being run. I have checked the link How to set any default values or to set any validation or derivation rule from BRF+ . I have also followed the Naming convention (in my case CHECK_BP_CENTRL) and have reactivated the Data model.

Please let me know if I am missing something

Vendor Account defaults in Change Request to 8888 - Treasury Vendor

Hi Everyone,

When I create a CR for Vendor the account group defaults to 8888 - Treasury Vendor. It must have something to do with a patch level because I did not expierience the problem in a previous client.

I have already checked if the default comes from mapping or Validation and Derivation rules and could not find anything.

Any Ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Restrict Authorization from SAP_MDGS_MENU_03 and SAP_MDGS_DISP_03

$

Hi Experts,

The note on the SAP_MDGS_MENU_03 indicates that authorization is not maintained in the role and it is only assigned to users for the portal role..

We have copied roles SAP_MDGS_MENU_03 and SAP_MDGS_DISP_03 roles and created Z roles from them.

We have assigned only these two roles to a user that we defined in our decision table as second approver but the user can still edit the Address data, tax details and Banking details even though only the 2 roles are assigned to him.

The requirement is that the approver should still be able to amend the Change Header details, create notes, add attachments, send requests for revision, reject and approve. Thus in the role ZMDG_MDGS_MENU_03 we must retain 02 on the activity for Type of Change requests under Sap Masterdata Governance. If we change the status to 03 all the activities mentioned is disabled.

Strange enough some views are disabled for editing example Purchase org, Company code and a few others

Any suggestions please. .

Thanks and best regards

Restrict Change Request Type Selection Screen

Hi Experts,

I have a customer requirement which is to restrict the change request type list during the creation of a new material. The customer will have some specific workflows which will demand to have some custom change request types. Some users should not have access to some specific change request types.  Would be possible to restrict the CR types selection screen? Would be possible to restrict by Organizational Units, Users or something else? Please let me know your consideration.

Joining Text Tables to Replace Technical Names with Descriptions in the HANA View for Drilldown Search

The SAP HANA-based search of master data is one of several ways of searching master data that reside in SAP HANA. You can create a HANA view and configure it to explore the master data or to perform a drilldown search. If the HANA view contains attributes with technical keys (such as Country Keys or Region Codes), the drilldown search results display technical keys instead of text descriptions. To ensure that  text descriptions display in the browser panes and result sets of the drilldown search, you must manually modify your generated SAP HANA views in SAP HANA Studio by adding text joins to the corresponding text tables.MDG7.0MDG7.0

Customizing data from ECC to MDG hub

Hello All,

I would like to know if we have any simple option to get the ECC customizing data from ECC. We are planning to upload the customizing data like plant, account group etc...

I am not inclined towards ALE configuration/ Transport mechanism as this will be only one time job.

After going through SCN, i could think of creating an RFC call to ECC to read required data and update that into MDG. Apart from this, do we have any other simple method ?

Thanks,

BS

MDG-M UI configuration

Hi All,
I'm working on extending MDG-M Data Model by a New Field (reuse option). While extending UI configuration, in the form UIBB Schema table when trying to add element I'm not seeing  Z field.

I have done all the previous steps before UI configuration. Please let me know what may be the reason?

With Regards,
Gandhi Subramani
