Change Request and Buttons missing when using custom Configuration

$

Dear experts,

I'm configuring the Vendor Like UI for MDG that uses the application BS_OVP_BP and configuration BS_OVP_SP_LVC.

I deep-copied BS_OVP_SP_LVC into a new one ZK_BS_OVP_SP_LVC and did no changes at all.

When the system is configured to use the original SAP configuration BS_OVP_SP_LVC everything looks OK:

2013-10-10 11-35-00 AM.png

and the Buttons and the Change Request section appear properly

2013-10-10 11-38-20 AM.png

The issue comes when I flip the configuration for the application to my newlly copied one:
2013-10-10 11-35-28 AM.png

in this case the actual webdynpro configuration opens, but the Buttons and the Change Request section are missing.

2013-10-10 11-36-50 AM.png

Is there anything I can do to have my configuration work properly and see the buttons and the CR section?

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance,

Boris

MDG Hub Approach - Open points

Hi Experts,

In the current project which is the SAP ERP implementation project, we are going for the MDG Hub approach and all the 4 master data domains.

Since customer donot have sufficient licenses, we decided to have the existing legacy master data loaded into the transactional SAP ERP system.

Now after go live, we would like to have the central creation of master data in MDG but the duplicate check should happen against the existing data in ERP.

So please advise will this approach be technically feasible. Also I would need answers to the following question.

1. Will financial data also can work in this approach since it uses flex mode?

2. For change of any master data is it possible to launch inbound services in ERP to send the data to the MDG system and then trigger the change request?
3. Is it possible to have the duplicate check as mentioned above?

4. After we load existing customers and vendors into SAP ERP, do we need to create business partners from these vendor and customers?

Thanks in advance for the inputs.

Regards, Purush.

MDG Portal in English and French?

We will need to set up our MDG (Enterprise) portal for Vendor master in both English and French. Does anyone have any information as to how to do this? The actual Vendor master data records are in English or French  - they don't need to be translated. But the portal needs to be useable by French speaking employees.

Thanks,

Matt

MDG-M New Data Model Attributes

Where can I find a list of all attributes for all entities in the new MDG-M (MM) data model?

I have found many documents listing the new entities, such as MARDMRP and MARDSTOR but I would like a list of attributes.

I am about to extend the MDG data model to add the material master Label Type (MARA-ETIAR) and Label Form (MARA-ETIFO) fields but if these are in the new 7.0 model, I may wait until we upgrade because we need several of the new storage location fields as well.

In ECC, Label Type and Label Form fields are on the "Plant data / stor. 1" view of the material master.  However, they are actually enterprise-level fields stored in MARA.  So I am trying to determine the best place to add these to the MDG data model.  At the moment, I am thinking I need to add to the MATERIAL entity since they are enterprise fields, using the guide, SAP How-To Guide: Extend MDG-M Data Model by a New Field (Reuse Option).

MDG Material Workflow Agents

Hello,

I am setting up the basic MDG for Material scenario and currently have a few questions about the workflow configuration.  In transaction SWDD I can view the configuration for workflow WS60800086.  There seem to be a number of steps related to determining the correct agents to assign to the new change request.  The step "Dialogue Processing" is set to a rule 60800140.  When I examine the rule, it is assigned to this function module: USMD5_SSW_CR_USER_AGT_DET.  I took a look briefly through the code and it looks like it's doing something at the org level, like reading in the org structure of the user who created the change request.  But I can't seem to figure out what exactly the rule is doing.

Can someone provide some input on this?

Hi Gurus,

This question is with respect to List Window UIBB, component FPM_LIST_UIBB_ATS using feeder class CL_USMD_ENTITY_VALUE2_PROXY. Please see the screen shots below. I configured few attribute elements display type as input field, but at run time it does not allow me to edit the elements. I am able to edit the Form Window attributes but not the List Window attributes. Can somebody help me on this?

Using MDG for just approavl workflow. No data creation or replication

$

I have a question regarding using MDG for request/approval process of a custom data object but not auto-creation or replication. To give more context The scenario is user wants to submit request for a new legal entity along with the business reasoning (a form with few attributes can be used here (no ECC validations required),  the request shoud be routed to approver and once it is approved, instead of creating any data in ECC, a email or any form of notification is generated for configuration team to configure the new company code.

The reason we are trying to do this in MDG, is to keep the governance in place for data objects that may not be supported by MDG.

Any response in this regard is highly appreciated.

Thanks

SAP Master Data Governance for Material (MDG-M) provides business processes to find, create, change, and mark material master data for deletion. It supports the governance of material master data on a central hub and the distribution to connected operational and business intelligence systems. In EhP6 MDG for Material master data domain addresses only Basic, Descriptive data & Classification data of the Material but it is possible to extend the data model. If you want to search also with these new fields you have to extend the search too.

Which master data are affected by VAT implementation?

Hi,

I have a question, Malaysia has recently implemented the Goods & services tax, which is equivalent to the VAT tax in most countries such as UK etc.

In light of this changes, some enterprise  are affected by it and they need to configure their SAP ERP systems to be VAT-complaint. I need to determine what are the master data that will be affected and then make the relevant changes.

In such a case, may I know which master data are likely to be impacted by it?

The client is in the electric utilities and power sector.

Many thanks,

Mahvin

Master Data Governance 6.1 for Material: Performance Tweaks

Master Data Governance for Material master data enables customers to create, change or delete master data records and put them under governance. Displaying major parts of the material master data requires more system resources than a simple report or transaction.   Besides the official sizing guide for customer system landscapes, this guide focuses on the MDGM application and how it can be accelerated. The findings are based on the “Create Material” scenario but can also be applied to the “Change Material” scenario.   The development group identified some best practices for tweaking the application on the customer side.

The config guide says nothing more.

But when I click on "New" in Search for customers screen I get the error message : "No change request types available for business activity"

What is missing in the config?

How to-Enhance the Material Search EhP5

SAP Master Data Governance for Material (MDG-M) provides business processes to find, create, change, and mark material master data for deletion. It supports the governance of material master data on a central hub and the distribution to connected operational and business intelligence systems. The processes are workflow-driven and can include several approval and revision phases, and the collaboration of all users participating in the master data maintenance.  In EhP5 MDG-M addresses only descriptive data of the Material but it is possible to extend the data model. If you want to search also with these new fields you have to extend the search too.

Replication of Custom MDG entity - Delta only

Dear Experts,

I'm trying to find a solution for replicating a Custom MDG entity delta records only.

Using DRFOUT, when I use my filter, I'm able to replicate all active records using my Replication model (type RFC).

My question is, can I use the Replication mode: Changes (the one that identifies the changed records based on Change Pointers) and replicate only the newlly activated records?

Also any other ideas on how to replicate the delta are welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Boris

Hide buttons on CR activation

Hello All,

Can we hide the buttons like Edit, Change documents and workflow log, after the activation of a material in MDG-M.

OR if possible disable the buttons after the Change request has 05/07[final check approved/activation failed] status.

Thank You,

Shaila.

USMD_EDITION_CREQUEST for MDG - material

Hello Experts,

I am having a customized INIT and OVP page for MDG- material accessing from Portal.

What happens is in the application 'My Change Requests' which calls 'USMD_EDITION_CREQUEST' navigates to the INIT page according to the standard link logical actions.

standard:

194CREATEUSMD_EDITION_CREQUESTUSMD_EDITION_CREQUESTMDG_BS_MATBS_MAT_INIT_03MAT1

custom:

194CREATEUSMD_EDITION_CREQUESTUSMD_EDITION_CREQUESTMDG_BS_MATZ##_BS_MAT_INIT_03MAT1

The above link logical action entry is for making the custom INIT screen to be populated upon load of  'create material' from Portal.

But , when i click on create material, give some entries and save a CR and try to open the 'my change requests' it opens the INIT page without any filled up fields with respect to the CR type.

The problem is i need the init page to be filled up based on the saved CR type.

If i dont use the init page and give OVP in the  'USMD_EDITION_CREQUEST' navigation of link logical actions, the original custom init screen changes will not apply.

and if i use the INIT page, 'my change request' in portal will display my init page with no values filled from the saved CR.

How can i solve the 'my change request' to populate the fields form saved CR material.

Hope i was clear.

Any hints/suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thank you,

Shaila.
