Data replication to non-SAP systems

Hello experts,

 

At my client we have the following scenario:

MDG as a data HUB on SQL (Finance data, Customer, Vendor and Materials will be governed in MDG)

Target ERP system ECC on HANA, being soon upgraded to S/4 HANA.

Various other legacy systems will also receive data from MDG.

 

I have a few questions regarding our scenario:

- Can I replicate data to S/4 HANA using IDOCs (as I normally would to ECC)?

- Can I use FILE method to replicate data to other non-SAP systems (all data domains)? If so, how can I find the file format being generated and can it be changed? If FILE is not an option, can I use BODS to generate files for replication?

- As expected due to the number of legacy systems, we will need to configure value mapping for all the converted data to revert back during replication. Do you recommend to use value mapping withing MDG? How much of an effort is it considering various legacy systems? Would BODS be a better option?

 

I know it's a lot of questions, so really appreciate any help!

Making General data tab field as editable one in the custom configuration.

Hi all,

     I have created an custom change request and then I have created a custom configuration by copying the standard configuration BS_MAT_OVP and customized the screen as per my requirement and I didn't make any change in the General data section of the screen. When I run the NWBC screen with the custom change request which I created I'm facing an issue in which the General data is not auto populating the field values and they are like un-editable one. I don't know why the General data tab got changed when I didn't make any changes in that one. can anyone help me to solve this issue?error 1.png

Extending the existing MDGM application configuration (BS_MAT_OVP)

Hi All,

 

I am trying to extend MDGM Data Model by a new custom owned Reuse Entity type. I have extended the data model MM with new custom entity type and activated it. But on extending the user interface, by extending the MDGM application configuration BS_MAT_OVP by adding a new UIBB with fields from created custom owned entity type, I am not able to find the new fields when testing it. I removed the new added UIBB and tried to Test the standard applictaion configuration BS_MAT_OVP by going to additional functions button and clicking on Test. But on testing, there is nothing displayed, only a blank page with grey strip. I am attaching the snap shot of what I am getting on testing the application. Please let me know if anything is missing or anything needs to be configured.

 

I am new to MDG. Please help me in this Issue.

Data not populating after final check approved

Hi techies,

Entity is : RelCat.

Once a particular BP Change request for customer has got final check approved, then Department and Function are not populating in MDG hub under personal details section of the particular customer, while user has put entry in those fields, while I am going to check the respective IDOC the fields ABTNR (Department) and PAFKT (Function) are not there in segment. Also whatever the Partner ID (Person ID) mentioned under NWBC relationship section that was not matching with KNVK table data.

 

Please give me your suggestion.

Extending the existing MDGM application configuration (BS_MAT_OVP) by a new UIBB

Hi All,

 

I am trying to extend the standard MDGM application configuration (BS_MAT_OVP) with a new entity type. I added a list UIBB with the configuration ID which was the component configuration copied from standard component configuration FPM_LIST_UIBB_ATS_TEMPLATE with the feeder class as CL_MDG_BS_MAT_FEEDER_LIST by giving the feeder parameters entries ENTITY TYPE as our own new entity type. I have added the required fields to be displayed in the list by selecting the column button and have given display type as INPUT FIELD. But the list what is displayed is not enabled to add values for the fields. Also even I added the UIBB at the END or somewhere in the middle it appears first when I test the application. Please let me know if anything prerequisite to be done so that it takes as inputs or anything needs to be changed.

 

I am attaching the screenshots of what i am getting.

Fill Cost Center Medium text automatically using BADI

Hi All,

 

I'm trying to fill the Cost Center Medium Text (TXTMI) automatically based on the short text entered.

I'm using method IF_EX_USMD_RULE_SERVICE2~DERIVE for entity CCTR.

I noticed that method io_write_data->write_data will change the medium text ONLY when that field was already populated.

BUT if the medium text is blank and I want to fill it...then it does nothing!

 

Do you know how can I solve this?

MDG-Supplier Field value not replicating in ECC

Hi,

 

I have a requirement wherein a standard field LFM1-TELF1 (telephone Number) has been added on the Data Model and UIBB.

 

In create change request, field LFM1-TELF1 is being updated in ECC and MDG but (issue) on change mode, the said field is not updated.

 

Can you provide details of what has been missed here?

Model specific structure is not generating backend structure

Hi,

 

I have enhance data model BP with custom attributes at BP_VENGEN entity and done activation. (The activation is done successfully). And The field is available at MDG table.

 

Now I need to generate a model specific structure for BP_VENGEN entity - Its display error. TADIR entry for CI_MDG_S_PBP_BP_VENGEN could not be generated.

When I look to that Structure at SE11. The Custom include is already generated but its not activated.

SAP MDGF - Replication of Cost Center / Hierarchy using Services

Hello Experts,

 

We are trying to utilize web services (SOA Based Replication) to replicate cost center and the hierarchy for self replication.  We have configured SOAMANAGER as per the documentation provided in help.sap.com and also set up the replication models with outbound implementations 1100 and 1110.

 

After we create the master data, the replication log for cost center indicates that it is successful, but we do not see the master data created in the ECC layer.  There are no logs generated in SXMB_MONI or SRT_MONI transactions.  When I look at the log using DRFRSD for the specific change request, the status indicates "Message was Sent".

 

Can SOA based replication be used for self replication?  If the self replication works correctly, we would like to then set up the same for our other ECC Systems.  Any help on this will be much appreciated.

Enter values for drop down for an field in a standard UI

Hi Experts,

 

I wanted to add values like High, Low, Medium to drop down values for PRIORITY field of Change Request UIBB to standard UI of Create material. I know only basics of FPM. Please share your ideas of how it can be done. They have used the class CL_USMD_CR_GUIBB_GENERAL_DATA.

Highlighting changes for classification data

Hello,

 

MDG 7 SP 02 provides feature for "Highlighting unsaved changes".

It works fine for Basic data, Sales view, Plants view.

However I noticed that it does not seem to work for Characteristic values.

I added new class and tried to change characteristic values for that class. But changes not getting highlighted.

Is it also possible to highlight changes when classification data is changed?

Any help/pointers would be appreciated.

Add some fields from BP_CENTRL to search results.

Hello experts!

 

I want to add fields "Central Block", "Archiving Flag", "Search Term 1", "Search Term 2" and "Data Origin" into search results. Using TCODE ESH_COCKPIT I've extended MDG_BUSINESS_PARTNER model, by adding according attributes from BP_CENTRL to Node Response. Then I've recreated search connector and executed indexation. After this actions, these fields began to appear in the search results, when I using TCODE ESH_TEST_SEARCH. So, I think I'm going in right direction.

 

Then I've customized component BS_BP_QUERY_RESULT by adding according columns via button "Add Column". But there are no data for them in search results. I've debugged method if_fpm_guibb_list~get_data, which is using in feeder class CL_BS_BP_QUERY_RESULT and find out that it also not return any data for this fields.

 

Do you have any idea what I might have missed?

How can I add additional roles to a BP..

Dear Team,

 

I have a requirement, where I need to add additional custom roles to the BP if a check box is selected on the supplier creation UI apart from the standard default roles which are assigned. The same requirement is also required for mass upload.

 

I have tried few things but I'm not getting desired results.

Z-Field values stored in BUT000 reuse, doesn't show in UI

Dear Team,

 

The z-field values which are stored in BUT000 table, doesn't show in the MDG-C or MDG-S UI, when the CR is opened. The system is MDG6.1. Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated.

 

I have checked the SMT mapping several times and it is fine.(BP_BP_CENTRL_2API & BP_BP_CENTRL_2STA)

Parallel Approver in MDG 8.0

Hi Experts,

 

Is it possible to design Parallel Approver workflow in MDG-M being able to edit all approvers at the same time?

 

Meaning in Create scenario: Requestor Submits CR and goes to parallel approvers(Different Work streams).

Now all parallel approver opens CR at the same time and start enriching data. Each work steam is responsible for their data.

For e.g Purchasing data is responsible by Purchasing Team, Finance data is responsible by Finance Team and so on.

After everybody approves, CR should activate and then it should create material in the backend.

 

Please advise.
